Pop/R&B vocal group 98 Degrees have announced that the quartet of Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre, will be bringing their greatest hits to the Philippines dubbed as "An Evening with 98 Degrees" The Philippine Tour 2020."

In contrast to many of their contemporaries, 98 Degrees were founded independently before they signed a recording contract with Motown Records in 1997. Their debut album also arrived that year, featuring their first top twenty single, “Invisible Man.” Touring extensively to build their cachet and eventually migrating to Universal Records, the foursome released an impressive arsenal of successful albums (98 Degrees and Rising, This Christmas, Revelation) and radio hits (“Because of You,” “The Hardest Thing,” “This Gift,” “My Everything,” “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” and “Thank God I Found You,” a collaboration with Mariah Carey and Joe that would propel them to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2000)

All told, 98 Degrees’ album sales have exceeded ten million units internationally.

In 2002, the group went on hiatus, during which its members pursued a wide array of solo projects – musical and otherwise. A decade after putting the 98 Degrees banner into semi-retirement, the quartet announced in 2012 they would be recording their fifth studio album and began touring again.

Breaking into the music scene in the 90s, Mañalac was part of the band, Rivermaya that churned out hit after hit, among them “Hinahanap Hanap Kita” and “Awit ng Kabataan.” He took a break from the industry then formed the band Bamboo in the early 2000s. Among their original hits were “Hallelujah” and “Noypi.” Bamboo then went solo and released his first album titled “No Water, No Moon.” In 2013, Bamboo was chosen as one of the coaches for ABS-CBN’s singing competition, “The Voice of the Philippines.”


BAMBOO: UNA MAS CEBU EDITION 2019 is presented by Espicom Events, a startup live entertainment company with a combined individual that has extensive years of experiences, Espicom Events has an expert team dedicated to live entertainment planning and implementation. Nationwide Quest for Baristas Invades Cebu!

CEBU CITY - Baristas and coffee enthusiasts across Visayas are in for a hot brewin' night as Baristas' Quest conquered Cebu City for Baristas' Quest --- with the brewing competition.

Participants from Cebu City and neighboring towns joined the brewing competition held last July 25, 6pm at Tightrope Coffee located at Pres. Quezon Street, Cebu City.

Michael Harris Conlin, President and CEO of Henry & Sons Trading and Manufacturing Company, Inc. who is also the 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion and the 2019 World Barista Championship Semi-Finalist, leads the Baristas' Quest Campaign.

Baristas' Quest is a month-long campaign of competitions created to empower and promote camaraderie amongst Filipino Baristas and coffee enthusiasts, and to showcase their skills in making coffee. Succeeding legs of the competition took place in Davao and Baguio City.

John Rey Plaza of 4th Street Cafe emerged as champion in the Quest Coffee Triangulation Competition in Davao City  while Leandro Lamis of Figaro Baguio won in the Coffee + Art: Latte Art Throwdown in Baguio City.

The Champions  of these competitions will get a chance to represent his or her region by getting a competitor sponsorship[ package for the National Coffee Championships, a travel allowance and accommodation to the Philippine National Barista Assembly happening on September 20 at the SMX Convention Center Aura, and a Comandante Grinder! These events are co-sponsored by the venue partners.

The competition begins with 16 contestants and the judges chose the 5 finalist for the final brewing battle. Now the event is getting hotter and hotter. But KARA from Starbucks won the brewing showdown. This is her winning moment.  Congratulations!

     On the heels of UNASHAMED, the Every Nation Campus 2017 Conference, Filipino worship band Victory Worship has released its new single, "For Your Purpose."

     The song is Inspired by Jeremiah 1:5, which says, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." “For Your Purpose” is Victory Worship’s third digital single for 2017, following the Filipino-language song “Awit ng Bayan” and the worship ballad, “Safe.”

Tomorrow, August 6, at Shangri-la's Mactan Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island, Cebu, Sun Life Financial Philippines will once again be a part of the action in the most awaited IRONMAN 70.3 in Cebu, together with their very own executives, advisors, and brand ambassador Piolo Pascual who will also be leading the Sun Life Tri-Team. On the said date, Sun Life will be fielding a total of five relay teams and one individual racer - its biggest contingency since it started joining the prestigious race in 2013.  

1st Team

Actor Enchong Dee (swim) will join fellow celebrity Piolo Pascual (bike) in his team along with Toniel Ty (run)

2nd Team

Sun Life Board Director Paco Sandejas (swim) will be racing with Sun Life advisors Eboy de Leon (bike) and Mike Miras (run).

3rd Team

Former Olympian Christine Jacob Sandejas (swim) - Paco Sandejas' wife, forms Sun Life's all-female team together with Laarni de Guzman (bike) and Sun Life Health and Wellness Marketing Manager, Jaymie "The Bull Runner" Pizzaro (run).

4th Team

Former national team member Jan Michael Chiu (swim) together with Sun Life's Karl Villalonga (bike) and Alfred Diacosa (run) will compose the 4th team.

5th Team 

Sun Life Advisors KB Espinosa (swim) and Rocio Pantaleon (bike) together with Toots Malapad (run) of Sun Life's Agency Business Development Group forms the 5th team.

 Hazel Ferrer-Misa of Sun Life's Strategy and Financial Management Group will compete in the individual category.

The medal that will be awarded to racers was once again designed by the multi-awarded industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue, who was also a Sun Life Brand Ambassador.

SEA Challenge Figure Skating 2017 in Cebu

Yesterday, It was a privilege that I was invited to a big event here in Cebu. The Southeast Asian (SEA) Figure Skating Challenge 2017 held at SM Seaside Cebu. This was the first ever Figure Skating Challenge happened here in Cebu. 

SEA Figure Skating Challenge was comprised by 19 skaters from the Philippines, 5 from Malaysia, 4 from Thailand, and 2 from Indonesia completes the roster of figure skaters to compete in the 2017 SEA Challenge - which is an international figure skating competition held under the helm of the Asian Skating Union (ASU), jointly hosted by the Figure and Speed Association of Thailand, Singapore Skating Association, and Ice Skating Association of Malaysia, Federasi Ice Skating Indonesia (FISI), and the Philippine Skating Union (PSU). Unfortunately, Singaporean skaters weren't able to join because of school activities at their country.

For Thailand, they have Apisada Jesdaapiban, Phatchita Chorprasertchock and Poonyawee Wisawajarn for the Pre-Novice category, while Jennifer Pulgasem for the Basic Novice category.

For Indonesia, they have Milessa Geana Serafine for Juvenile category and Melody Asri Fatimah for the Pre-Novice category

Apart from proving the country's readiness to host international skating events with the help of SM Skating, the 2017 SEA Challenge organizers hope to spread awareness on the sport and to invite more people to become part of the growing number of skating enthusiasts in the Philippines.
